With the incidence of CORONAVIRUS [COVID-19] on the increase in NSW, we need to keep tabs with updates provided both at the federal and state levels.
Clicking on the following links at least once a day should provide the latest we need to know:
The immediate precautionary steps we all should take are as follows:
- On WASHING of our HANDS, let’s do it thoroughly and often. Alternatively let’s use alcohol-based hand-rub.
- In SNEEZING, let’s use our elbow – to block any possible droplets
- On detecting flu-like symptoms [e.g. fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath or combination of these], please stay at home and link up your family doctor or general practitioner
- The experts recommend the use of other forms of acknowledgement other than shaking of hands. Since our hand-shake comes rather naturally, rather than a rebuff, let’s be polite and simply remind one another.
In the main, we are still at the CONTAINMENT stage. Should we progress to the ISOLATION stage, that will be quite dire and we will have to follow the directives from the authorities.
Cheers!
I. Kwamena Acquah,
President, Ghana Assoc. of NSW
